Watchful Lab · a concept we're exploring

Flows: follow it from the dock to the shelf.

Flows follows things between cameras: a box, a pallet, a suitcase, a cart. Write the route once, in plain words. Watchful tells you when something gets stuck, skips a step or ends up in the wrong place, and shows how long each leg really takes.

56 seconds. A concept film: the places, people and numbers are illustrations.

Flow · Inbound to shelf

When a box leaves the dock, it should be in storage within 30 minutes and on a shelf by the end of the shift. Tell the floor lead if it isn't.

Flow · Luggage to the room

When luggage goes on a trolley at the bell desk, it should reach the guest's door within 20 minutes. Tell the bell captain if it waits more than 10 minutes, or is left in a corridor.

What a flow tells you.

You don't watch the movement. You hear about the broken flow, and get the numbers for the rest.

Suggested flows

Watchful suggests the flows worth following.

Over a few weeks it learns how things really move through a site, then suggests flows that would save time or catch a problem. Nothing is followed until you approve it.

What it is, and isn't.

Objects and roles, not facesIt follows a box, a trolley, someone in hi-vis or a porter's uniform. No face recognition.
No tags, no scannersIt uses the cameras already on the ceiling. Where you scan, it checks the scan against what really happened.
Checkpoints firstToday the clearest flows go camera to camera through set points. Telling identical boxes apart is the harder part we are working on.
